Today, David and I decided to go out for lunch as we both had today off. There were a few things I had to do and he had a couple of appointments he had to go to. We decided to pop in to this place called The Good Fish Co. for a quick feed. I’ve walked past this place twice before and have always wanted to go in but just never had the chance to.
The place is a modern fish & chippery and the food was absolutely delicious. The shop was neat and inviting with pops of yellow (currently my favourite colour). I feel like a place like this should be next to the beach because I could just picture myself walking in barefoot with sand between my toes and a surfboard under my arm. Which will obviously never happen because for starters I don’t even surf but you get what I mean? The place has a real summery feel to it if you’re picking up what I’m putting down.
The meals we ordered came out pretty quick, definitely under 15 minutes. We got the salt and pepper calamari to share, I got the Mr Goreng and David got the gummy shark beer battered fish and chips with a side of coleslaw.
Their menu consist of burgers, roti wraps, paella and even hot jam doughnuts so it’s a win-win situation.
They have two fish & chipperies open – one in Watergardens and the other in Craigieburn. While doing a bit of research about the place, I’ve stumbled across mixed reviews. Some said their fish was dry while others said that the place was dirty. This just wasn’t the case when we came in for lunch today. Our food was scrumptious. The lady who served us was very helpful which was icing on the cake. She suggested for us to get the salt and pepper calamari as an entree and we’re happy we did. She also came over and checked on us a couple of times to make sure we had everything we needed and just as we were about to get up to leave, here I was shattered I couldn’t finish my meal because I was too full, she came over with a takeaway container for me. It’s like she read my mind.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and if you are around the area you should definitely check them out. 🙂
