I’ve put up a couple of posts since I got back a few days ago. They were saved drafts in my blog and thought before I even update anything, I should publish them first. So now, let’s address the big elephant in the room – where have I been?
Nowhere really. Just at home and at work. I’m still working at the same place pouring coffees. I still enjoy taking photos and going out for brunch. Have you read the quote “Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back, everything is different?” by C.S. Lewis? That’s exactly how I feel right now. This time last year I was three weeks away from flying out to London. Today, I’m three weeks away from my USA/Canada holiday. David and I will be in America for a month. We both have never been away from home for this long so we are both a little sceptical about leaving our two fur-babies behind.
Prior to taking a break from the blog, I was overwhelmed with all the photos from our Eurotrip and the idea that I had to edit them all and write posts up about our trip. In the end, I think I put too much pressure on myself that I ended up just fading away in the background. The whole blogging thing just didn’t appeal to me and it all got a bit too much.
Occasionally, I would type my blog URL in the browser and scroll through my previous posts and a wave of nostalgia would hit me. But the thought of physically logging in to my account and thinking of something to write about was exhausting to me at the time. I needed a break. I needed to hit the pause button and refresh.
So I did and now I’m back.
